Bees are dying out and no bees = a lot less fruit and veg on our plates.

Friends of the Earth came to us, wanting to find a way to convince the government how vital this issue was – so we created The Great British Bee Count.

People could download the app (or use the website) to tell us how many and what types of bees they’d spotted in their garden. Friends of the Earth then compiled all this data and took it to the government, to encourage them to plant more bee friendly habits in our towns and cities and help bee colonies thrive.

The campaign ran each summer for 3 years and received widespread media coverage on launch – with Michaela Strachan spotting bees daily on BBC’s Springwatch, features on ITV news, Channel 5 and The Guardian (app of the week).
